Silicon Carbide Sintering Furnace: Primary Applications and Fields
2025-05-09 14:48:06

The Silicon carbide sintering furnace employs an intelligent digital display instrument with a programmable PID temperature controller, integrating advanced digital display and intelligent control technologies to minimize visual reading errors and manual operation inaccuracies, thereby significantly enhancing operational efficiency. It features a dual-row digital display, keypad settings, and over-temperature alarm functions. Fully automated via microcomputer control, it supports programmable multi-stage heating, temperature preservation, cooling, and over-temperature protection. The system automatically initiates heating, insulation, cooling, and shutdown after program completion, requiring no manual supervision. Key advantages include rapid heating, energy efficiency, high precision, stable performance, and superior thermal insulation.

Primary Applications of Silicon carbide sintering furnace:

Abrasive Materials: Used to produce abrasives such as grinding wheels, oil stones, grinding heads, and abrasive tiles.

Metallurgical Deoxidizer and High-Temperature Resistant Material: Silicon carbide is primarily applied in four fields: functional ceramics, advanced refractory materials, abrasives, and metallurgical raw materials. While silicon carbide waste is widely available and not classified as a cutting-edge product, high-tech applications such as nano-sized silicon carbide powders remain in early development stages and have yet to achieve large-scale economic viability.

Silicon Carbide Sintering Furnace: Primary Applications and Fields

High-Purity Single Crystals: Utilized in semiconductor manufacturing and silicon carbide fiber production. Key applications include wire cutting of 3-12 inch monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, gallium arsenide, and quartz crystals, serving as critical engineering materials in the solar energy, semiconductor, and piezoelectric crystal industries.

Design Features:

The furnace is lined with high-temperature composite materials or recycled silicon carbide waste, while selected thermal insulation materials ensure the exterior temperature remains within permissible limits specified by national standards during prolonged operation.

An internal circulating water system guarantees efficient cooling rates, bringing the furnace temperature close to ambient levels.

Industrial Applications:

The silicon carbide sintering furnace is primarily used for processing non-metallic materials such as glass, ceramics, stone, cast iron, and certain non-ferrous metals. After purification via high-temperature sintering, silicon carbide exhibits exceptional hardness, chemical stability, and moderate toughness, making it a versatile abrasive material. It is widely employed in the production of bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, and free grinding applications.
